Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then leader of the Oppn. In the Lok
Sabha 21-23 Oct.'97 Audience and meeting with HH the Amir, HH the Crown Prince and the Speaker of the National Assembly. The Amir called the Indian expats as law abiding and appreciated their constructive role in the post-Gulf war reconstruction work. Sh. Vajpayee briefed the Amir on the international political and economic scenario. The Crown Prince recalled his personal links with India and expressed his deep admiration, love and affection for India.

Shri N. Dayal, Secretary(East) 9 June'98 Held intensive discussions with the Kuwaiti Foreign Secy. Decisions
taken to renew Foreign Office consultations between the two countries.

Smt. Najma Heptullah, Dy. Speaker, Rajya Sabha 22nd May, 2000
Mrs. Heptullah made a brief stopover in Kuwait on her way to Cairo to
attend the Inter Parliamentary Conf. She met the Head of Foreign
Affairs Panel of the National Assembly Mr. Md. Jassem Al Saqar

Official visit - The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister held meetings with the
President, Prime Minister, EAM and the speaker of the Lok Sabha. During
the visit the Minister signed (i) Extradition Treaty, (ii) Agreement on
Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and (iii) MoU for stablishment of Indo-Kuwait Strategic onsultative Group. The Minister, as current GCC President, also signed the GCC-India Framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation.

Cultural Troupe from the National Council for Art, Culture and
Letters 9-16 December 2003
A 22-member Cultural Troupe organized by the National Council for Art, Culture and Letters, Kuwait visited India and performed at Delhi,
Bombay and Khajuraho as part of Cultural Exchange Programme.
