Replies to the Questions from Prospective Bidders to Provide Administrative Support for Passport and Visa Services Que Will the Embassy of India continue to accept application for passport and visa services from its premise, even after outsourcing? Ans Once the passport and visa services are outsourced, the Embassy of India will not ordinarily accept applications for passport as well as for visa services except in the case of Diplomatic, Official and Special passports. Que Will the service provider be allowed to use the premise of the Embassy of India for acceptance and delivery of passport and visa services? Ans The Embassy of India premises will not be available to the service provider for acceptance and delivery of passport and visa services. Que Will Embassy of India provide administrative support to the service provider? Ans The role of the service provider and the Embassy of India have been clearly described in the tender document. The Embassy will maintain a general supervision on the work of the service provider but does not intend to post anybody in their premises permanently. Que Who will print and sign the passport and visa? Ans The service provider will provide the passport and visa applications and electronic data entry of these in a format prescribed by the Embassy, to the Embassy twice each working day. The Embassy will process, print and sign passports and visas and return it to the service provider for delivery. This has been clearly spelt out in the tender document. |
